Aussie Christmas

Christmas Eve 2018 saw a trip to Glenbrook Cinema to watch The Nutcracker and the Four Realms . Right near the movie theatre is a bus stop with illustrations representing iconic Australian children's books. Mum and I also caught up with Elvis at a local cafe. I decided the festive season required a Christmas tree, so I put this little one up. As you can see I put in minimal effort. It had a Disney section, a dance section, and then I figured I should probably give the Christmas tree a Christmas section. I decided to give mum a festive makeover. My Christmas dress made an appearance, and so did a stylish Rudolph stocking I'd bought a couple of years prior. This Santa's Little Helper was on a mission. We were on the way to pick up Grandpa, then head to Castle Hill Tavern for lunch. I was sure that I'd booked the table under my last name, but there we were at the "Pressed Family" table. So close. Back to Oz

I was on my way back to Australia for a holiday, but before I could embark on that journey, I had to jump on the Contiki coach one last time. We travelled from Paris to London. In London I caught the Tube to a Premier Inn near Heathrow Airport. A standard Tube ride consists of passengers keeping to themselves and avoiding eye contact at all costs. Well, this Tube ride was a bit different. There was a little boy singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas . I was also accompanied by a couple new friends I'd gained on the Contiki tour. I was the only one that was staying at the Premier Inn. It was a nice change to have a full English breakfast, as opposed to the continental breakfasts we'd had on our 23 day tour of Europe. It was also nice to see (and drink) some normal tea. I should point out that this entry isn't about my current visit to Australia. This blog post isn't even about the visit before that.
