Aussie Christmas

Christmas Eve 2018 saw a trip to Glenbrook Cinema to watch The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.


Right near the movie theatre is a bus stop with illustrations representing iconic Australian children's books.








Mum and I also caught up with Elvis at a local cafe.






I decided the festive season required a Christmas tree, so I put this little one up. As you can see I put in minimal effort. It had a Disney section,


a dance section,


and then I figured I should probably give the Christmas tree a Christmas section.


I decided to give mum a festive makeover.






My Christmas dress made an appearance, and so did a stylish Rudolph stocking I'd bought a couple of years prior.




This Santa's Little Helper was on a mission.


We were on the way to pick up Grandpa, then head to Castle Hill Tavern for lunch. I was sure that I'd booked the table under my last name, but there we were at the "Pressed Family" table. So close.


The buffet was quite delicious.




I was the most happy to see my favourite festive food. In case anybody out there is wondering, we call them prawns in Australia.




After lunch we dropped Grandpa back at his place.








My mum and Grandpa went back to Castle Hill Tavern for Christmas lunch last year because it was so good. I would’ve too, if I wasn’t in America. That’s a different blog for a different time. I promise I’ll get up to it... one day.

That Time I Surprised Addy

At the beginning of last year I decided it would be fun to spend Christmas in New York with my niece. I also thought it would be a good idea to surprise her. A week or so (I actually can’t remember how long before) my mum and I told Addy over a video call that we’d be spending Christmas with her, her mum (my sister, Alicia) and her dad (Carlos). The journey for Mum and I started in Sydney… with a photo for the blog, of course.  After an insane amount of hours flying, an encounter with an angry, egotistical TSA agent (or was that on the way home?) we made it to the newly renovated Terminal B in LaGuardia Airport.  Back tracking a little, Mum and I were lined up to walk past sniffer dogs. Wisconsin Adventures

While in America in January last year I took a little trip to Wisconsin to visit Kyra and meet her son, Walter, for the first time in real life.  I took off from LaGuardia airport.  And touched down in Milwaukee.  I stayed at Kyra’s parents’ place with Mom and Dad Nowacki (Kyra and her family were one of my adopted families when I lived in America… as a 26 year old).  Kyra, Walter and I ventured Downtown.  We had some snacks and hot drinks.  Walter kept peaking out on the way back to the car. He wanted to know what was going on. I also think he was a little confused that I kept going everywhere with them.  We took a few touristy shots.  And a few festive ones.  We took all these photos for the blog, of course.  We watched a little football.
