Disney Holiday Adventures

Bailey and I set off at a much more reasonable hour compared to the day before. The sun was actually up.

We were on our way to meet Michael, who we'd worked with at Pizza Planet. Our breakfast destination was Trail's End, which usually requires an array of transportation. We met Michael at Disney Springs and he scored us a ride in one of the Minnie Vans. It was so exciting we had our photo taken with the spotted vehicle.

We made it to our Trail's End buffet breakfast at the Fort Wilderness Resort.

I was too eager to eat my Mickey Waffle to take a photo of it, but rest assured they are available at the restaurant. Mickey Waffles smothered in butter and drenched in maple syrup are a must at any Disney breakfast.

After a little rest on the front porch rocking chairs we headed back to Disney Springs, which has undergone a number of renovations in the past few years.

I always enjoy admiring Disney inspired art pieces.

It was December, so Disney was serving festive vibes.

Following a little exploring, we farewelled Michael and met up with one of Bailey's friends who led us to the Christmas Tree Trail.

A number of Disney films are represented in festive tree form.

The decorations depict iconic movie moments.

Stars or angels at the top of each tree replaced with a movie prop.

It's not just films that are represented. There's even a Haunted Mansion tree.

After saying a "See ya real soon!" to Bailey I set off for Animal Kingdom.

Finding Nemo The Musical reminded me to “go with the flow”, which is valuable advice for most of our lives right now.

Despite never having seen Avatar, I'd booked a fast pass for the Na'vi River Journey.

Many people say it's not worth lining up for hours, or wasting a fast pass. I would agree, but the picturesque and relaxing boat journey was one of the few Disney attractions I was yet to experience.

Back outside in Pandora drummers were entertaining the crowd.

Festival of the Lion King was my next stop.

Animal Kingdom knows how to light up the night.

Following a snack...

and a quick service meal I tried to find my way to the Discovery River Lagoon.

After circling around the park, and asking a few cast members I eventually found my way to Animal Kingdom's evening show, Rivers of Light.

I began to feel some light rain, but I was prepared with a raincoat.

The rain got heavier, and the stands began to empty, but I stayed.

Then the wind picked up, the rain pelted down, and I bailed on the final moments of the show.

My raincoat was put to the test as I executed a weird half run, half walk to the complimentary resort bus stop. My unfortunate lack of gumboots meant my shoes and socks took about three days to dry out.

Thankfully the following day's weather was a brighter, albeit a lot cooler, for my solo trip to the Magic Kingdom.
