Winter in New York
I call this series: Trying to Get Everyone to Look at the Camera

Alicia waved her arm a little too high to get Adelyn's attention.

We’d pulled off the impossible. Everyone in the photo was looking at the camera.

In case you missed my last blog, this is my niece, Adelyn.

In case you missed my last blog, this is my niece, Adelyn.
I was visiting my sister, Alicia, and brother-in-law, Carlos in Long Island, New York in December.

Someone had built a snowman, which was quite appropriate considering Alicia and I were off to watch Frozen II at Regal Ronkonkoma.

We've now watched both of Disney's movies about the sisters from Arendelle together. in America. It wouldn’t be a true cinema experience without a couple of overpriced, oversized servings of popcorn.

The next day we all headed into the city. Alicia and I had tickets to see one of the most incredible stage musicals I've ever seen.

From the extravagant set, to the lavish costumes Moulin Rouge is a modern, musical masterpiece. The captivating and at times provocative choreography captured the essence of the original movie. The soundtrack an epic mix of music from the movie and more recent pop releases. The choreography and songs were performed by a truly talented and wonderfully diverse cast.

My ticket cost me an arm and both legs, but it was so worth it.

After leaving the amazing musical we set off for Times Square. Alicia and Carlos' friends Juan and Adriana joined us.

This was Adelyn's first visit to Times Square. She's not allowed to watch TV, so was engrossed in all the screens and lights. We had no hope of getting her to look at the camera this time.
The following day was Aunt Clary's turn to babysit Addy.

Our day including reading books, singing Christmas carols, and a photo shoot. I'd given Addy a Zena the Zebra and Chuckles the Monkey from where I work at Pontin's in the UK.

The hearts around Addy had fallen from the ceiling at the end of Moulin Rouge.

It was a lovely day, aside from Addy's little poopy problem that forced both of us to change outfits. I changed into Alicia's cargo pants and St Patrick's Day top, which had “lucky” written on it.

And you know what, I was lucky to be spending time with my niece ahead of leaving for St Louis, Missouri the following morning.
