The Bravos Come to Visit
Back in May last year my sister, Alicia and brother-in-law, Carlos brought my niece (and favourite person), Addy to Australia for a visit for the first time.
This was pretty special candid moment because it reminded of the only other time Addy and I had spent time together back in December 2019. Back then she was just 4 months old.
In May 2022 Addy was almost 3 years old and not quite sure what to do when I first walked into the hotel suite. She then showed me her shoes and I showed her some of the toys I'd brought for her to play with from when Alicia and I were little.
Addy was a fan.
I was a fan of the Astina Suites hotel room.
Who knew you could find such luxury in Penrith?
The curtains and laundry were perfect for hide-and-seek.
We went the roof top bar, where we were going to eat, but just ended up getting this cute photo instead.
Later that night the Bravos joined Mum, Eric and I for dinner at Italian Street Kitchen.
I don't remember much about the food. My notes do tell me that I wished the pasta sauce was a little thicker.
I don't think Addy remembers much about the evening either.
She spent the whole night recovering from her jetlag.
The next afternoon Addy came over to "Aunty Clary and Gigig's" for a visit for the first time.
She stomped around the whole townhouse. Then came into my room and asked me what everything was. She picked up 3 pens in a row that all looked the same and asked me what they were.
I think her favourite part of my room was the Finding Nemo poster. She came back asking to see it, then we styled my My Model.
Alicia told Addy to ask the My Model what she thought of her makeover, to which Addy responded, "She doesn't talk." She said this like it was so obvious the doll wouldn't talk and couldn't understand why you would ask her a question.
If she could talk I’m sure she would’ve gushed about her gorgeous makeover.
She must've enjoyed her time at our place because she asked to come back the following morning - which she did. She came over for a pancake breakfast.
I had the best alarm that day. Addy knocked on the door and stomped into my room.
Carlos did an excellent job cooking the pancakes.
We all did an excellent job eating the pancakes.
Although they were a little messy, Addy needed to wear a bib. We didn't have a bib, so settled for an apron. Addy wasn't so keen on being the only person in an apron, so Mum and I joined her.
Honestly, it’s a good thing I did have something to cover my new white jumper.
We also found a beer apron for Carlos.
After a couple of pancakes each we all said we were done, to which Addy responded, "I'm not done!"
She was only done after downing 5 pancakes.
But now I'm not done… blogging about the Bravos' visit. Stay tuned for more family adventures.
