Family Adventures

In May last year Alicia, Carlos and Adelyn visited Australia. It was the first time I'd seen them in person since December 2019. Between visits we had a lot of video calls where I would sometimes show them photos of my trips to the Grounds of Alexandria.

Alicia requested a visit to the often exquisitely decorated eatery.

The theme during the Bravos’ visit was The Secret Garden.







It was a great place to capture family photos.









Addy loved the goats and was imitating them.







She also loved being able to stand up high... with a little help, of course.









This display from Mother's Day was a picture perfect spot for three generations.









We certainly were loading up on memories.









Addy was a pro at posing for photos.









She was also a pro at looking like she was a pro at reading the menu.





Addy decided she wanted to sit between Mum (Gigig) and I (Aunt Clary). We were all very happy about this seating arrangement.









After a delicious feast Addy was vibing with the plants.









Then it was time for our visit to The Grounds to end, but the family adventures don't end there. Stick around for more adventures with the Bravos.

That Time I Surprised Addy

At the beginning of last year I decided it would be fun to spend Christmas in New York with my niece. I also thought it would be a good idea to surprise her. A week or so (I actually can’t remember how long before) my mum and I told Addy over a video call that we’d be spending Christmas with her, her mum (my sister, Alicia) and her dad (Carlos). The journey for Mum and I started in Sydney… with a photo for the blog, of course.  After an insane amount of hours flying, an encounter with an angry, egotistical TSA agent (or was that on the way home?) we made it to the newly renovated Terminal B in LaGuardia Airport.  Back tracking a little, Mum and I were lined up to walk past sniffer dogs. Except you couldn’t see what was actually happening because there were partitions. Wisconsin Adventures

While in America in January last year I took a little trip to Wisconsin to visit Kyra and meet her son, Walter, for the first time in real life.  I took off from LaGuardia airport.  And touched down in Milwaukee.  I stayed at Kyra’s parents’ place with Mom and Dad Nowacki (Kyra and her family were one of my adopted families when I lived in America… as a 26 year old).  Kyra, Walter and I ventured Downtown.  We had some snacks and hot drinks.  Walter kept peaking out on the way back to the car. He wanted to know what was going on. I also think he was a little confused that I kept going everywhere with them.  We took a few touristy shots.  And a few festive ones.  We took all these photos for the blog, of course.  We watched a little football.
