Pisa to Lucerne

Our journey through Europe continued. We were up to day 19. For anyone jumping on this blog-wagon for the first time, it's important to know that I'm really far behind with my blogging. Day 19 of my Contiki tour happened in early December of 2018.

Our first stop for day 19 was Pisa.

We were of course there to see the Leaning Tower.

But who wants a photo with just the leaning tower in it? I decided to go for the lean. It was nice to have a little rest.

I also thought I'd give it a little kick.

That photo took many attempts.

Meagan had been my photographer, so I returned the favour for her.

Here's a little from behind the scenes.

We jumped in the coach and I had my last pizza in Italy at a pit stop on the way to Lucerne in Switzerland.

There were some stunning views, but most of them were on the other side of the bus.

We played a little coach trivia. You may remember we came last the previous time we played, well today we came first. And it wasn't just us that entered.

On the way to our accommodation we stopped to see a lion statue, which commemorates the Swiss soldiers that died in the French Revolution.

Our accommodation for the Swiss portion of our trip was Barabas.

The interior design had a real penitentiary vibe.

Yep, we were in jail. It operated as a prison from 1862 to 1998.

That night we ate dinner in the hostel before having an early night ahead of exploring Lucerne the next day.
