Showtime in the West End

A last minute ticket purchase back in March of 2019 proved to be an excellent choice. Everyone should see Come From Away.

The touching storyline full of heart, humour and hope is told through a superb ensemble performance. Based on a true story, Come From Away, is a poignant reminder of what it means to be truly kind.

While I do recommend seeing this incredible show, I don't recommend viewing it from a box seat.

Samantha had accidentally bought us box seats. When she purchased the tickets online the website made no indication we'd be sitting in a private box. We had our own table, and coat hooks, but could only see three quarters of the stage.

On the way out of the theatre we took a photo pointing to where we come from. I’m originally from Australia and Samantha is from New Zealand.

We made our way back to the West End the next day.

Theatre Cafe was our first stop.

Featuring memorabilia from a range of West End productions, the eatery is the perfect stop for some pre-show snacks.

The menu contains punny, musical-inspired options.

After being blown away by Come From Away the night before, we were excited about the cups.

In contrast to the previous day, our tickets for the next day’s production were purchased a whopping 11 months prior. We were finally going to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

This magical show is worth seeing for the production elements alone.

Between shows we dropped into the nearest Wetherspoon for some cheap pub eats.

The second instalment was a fitting conclusion to a show we'd waited months to see.

A few weeks later I took a little day trip back to the West End for a musical brunch.

Samantha and I originally had tickets for the previous November, but I was too sick to attend. After some back and forth with the organisers, they kindly allowed us to transfer our tickets to March of 2019.

Each musical brunch is held in a different location. Cafe de Paris was the perfect setting.
