Sights of St Louis
In December I met up with Kenzie in her hometown, St Louis. I had an overnight trip booked here so I could catch up with my old roomie from my Disney days, and see some sights of St Louis that I haven't seen before.
Kenzie picked me up from the airport and we went straight downtown to St Louis Union Station. The historic former train station now houses a variety of attractions and eateries.

The St Louis Wheel had opened just a few months earlier.

It offers views of the city from inside a climate controlled pod.

Still at the former station, we strolled over to the charming St Louis Union Station Soda Fountain.

We did a little window shopping and admired the Christmas tree while we waited for our table.

I perused the menu, and was having trouble choosing from all the delicious options. I grabbed a sneak peek of food at other tables and it all looked good.

Kenzie drew my attention to the gooey butter cake flavoured ice-cream. I'd never heard of gooey butter cake. It turns out the treat originated in St Louis in the 1930s. My choice was made and I do not regret it one bit.

Following our afternoon tea we parked at Enterprise Stadium, which we would be returning to later that evening.

Our next stop was rooftop bar, Three Sixty. It was decked out for the festive season.

The food was delectable,

my cocktail was adorable,

and the 360 degree views were divine.

After admiring the St Louis sights at night, we jumped in the elevator and then into an Uber with a sweet, chatty driver. It was a little too cold to walk back to the stadium.
We were at the stadium to watch a hockey match - something I'd wanted to do for a while.

Naturally, I was supporting the St Louis Blues.

At first their performance was a little embarrassing (says someone who can't ice-skate or even play field hockey, and trips over her own feet), but then they made an impressive comeback to claw their way to victory.

I woke the next morning to discover an impending snowstorm was threatening to delay my trip to Disney World that day. After changing flights a couple of times Kenzie drove me to the airport through the snow that had begun to fall. I made it to Disney World that evening.
