Summer in Australia
In January this year I travelled to Australia for a three week holiday. I flew from London to Singapore.

A few of us kicked on at Macca’s. Classy, I know.

Then from Singapore to Sydney. I was expecting a scorcher, but the weather was particularly mild.
Once in Sydney I caught a couple of trains, then was driven to this place I seem to call home every summer.
My holiday included a few video calls with my niece, Adelyn. As you can see, she is always delighted to receive the calls.
I was delighted to be back in the land of top quality cafe culture. I hit up Rogue Valley Roaster for a fresh feed.
Emu Hall is another fabulous cafe.
I have an irrational fear of emus ever since one bit my finger when I was a child, but I didn’t let the presence in statue form impact negatively on my dining experience.
Situated at the foot of the Blue Mountains, the eatery initially didn't receive rave reviews for its service. It seemed they'd upped their game for our visit.
The food was on point.
Apparently I just went out for food on this holiday. I found myself at the Coffee Club at Nepean River with Amy and her son, Henry.
After eating our meals we played in the playground, Henry brought us imaginary coffees and performed a song and tap number.
A couple of days later my 31st birthday weekend began.
Of course it began with a photo shoot.
I was joined by some friends and family at Hog's Breath in Penrith.
Does anybody know what to do when people are singing Happy Birthday?
The cake from Poles Patisserie was delish. I can only guess if the leftovers would’ve been any good. They were kind of dropped by a staff member. I guess she’d heard about my diet.
The awkwardness continued with an awkward daughters photo shoot.
I had to get the rest of my Blue Mountains Musical Society fam in a photo.
Some high school friends were also there for the celebration.
Some of my family joined me too.
A few of the BMMS crew were feeling the model vibes.
That sign reads: Please!! No butts in garden!!
Hog's Breath and I were both established in 1989.
A few of us kicked on at Macca’s. Classy, I know.
The following day I caught up with Dee and Steph who are part of the former Forever New Crew.
We enjoyed the cuisine and service from Circa Espresso.
Stay tuned for more Aussie birthday adventures.
