Fun, Friends and Food
I went on a few COVID compliant adventures towards the end of 2020. One of these was at the Allen Place car park, where several artists have brightened up Penrith.

It was a delight to see the vibrant artworks set against the backdrop of a brilliant, blue sky.

As a fan of the arts and Blue Mountains Musical Society, I was pretty excited to write a couple of articles about BMMS Online and BMMS Online 2.0.
Two online concerts were staged by the society to celebrate musical theatre and raise funds to continue bringing professional quality productions to the Blue Mountains after the pandemic. Both of these concerts are still available to watch on the BMMS Facebook page.
I also watched Sydney Ice Theatre perform A Toy's Story on Ice. This show had an in-person audience. I thoroughly enjoyed my first time as an audience member for a show since seeing &Juliet on the West End in January. There was no horror within me when I saw Linda performing as Rex. Just a whole lot of laughs and smiles. Bec and Elena were also among the socially distanced audience of the colourful production.
While my Toy Story shoes were appropriately cute, my toes did almost fall off.
I also had some meals with friends. Cassie, Catrin and I hit up Emu Hall. We sat at about 3 different tables trying to escape the rain. We eventually sat underneath a large umbrella.
I also ate out at Yulli's in Surry Hills. It's only about a 10 minute walk from Central Station, but most of it is uphill. I was neither physically or mentally prepared for the arduous climb. Ok, it's probably not that bad if you're used to walking further than the distance between your lounge and fridge.
The food was worth the walk. After looking at the menu ahead of time I had a selected a few dishes I was willing to try because they didn't seem too spicy. I was out with Steph, Dee and Simone, who are a little more adventurous than me when it comes to food. Normally, I order a separate dish for myself when we eat out, but this time I decided to try what they'd ordered. It was pleasantly delicious. I didn't take a selfie of us, but I did take a photo of one of the dishes.
Mum, Eric and I were joined by Sue and David at Maze Cafe in Penrith RSL before their big move up the coast.
The seafood basket was a winner. As was this festive photo op.
After dinner I took a little look around at some items relating to Australia's service in wars and peacekeeping.
I joined Zoe and her mum, Kate for some morning tea, Wiggles, reading and fun.
I also had fun with Adelyn. She now likes to play peek-a-boo, and she does thumbs up, but she just says, "Thumbs up!" with her hands in the air above her head. I guess her thumbs are technically up. Close enough.
She also now takes photos while on a video call. Thank you so much for capturing this moment, Adelyn. I've never looked better.
She was also told she wasn't allowed to touch the train, so decided to watch the train with her hands behind her back.
I've also been occupying my time creating TikToks, which are mostly dance videos. In TikTok's summary of my time on the app since joining in May, they provided me with this accolade... which they probably give to everyone who uploads at least one woah.
Stay tuned for my Christmas day adventures.
