Superhero Soiree and a Pixar Party

Image
If you've been following my lockdown adventures you'll know that every Saturday I host a themed event for my Mum, step-dad and I. A couple of weeks ago it was Superhero Saturday. I was Iron Woman. Mum was Wonder? Woman. Eric was Supper-man. I treated myself to a super dinner of pancakes, vanilla ice-cream, golden syrup and crispy M&Ms. Our activity that night was a couple of drawing tutorials I found on YouTube, which I've linked at the end of this blog post.  The first was quite detailed.  A paused the video a few times as an artist talked us through how to draw Captain America. The next tutorial was simpler, but didn't include any talking. I'm not quite sure why I gave Batman such a muscular neck. I added to some shoulders so it didn't look like he was just floating. Just over a week ago we had a Pixar Party. I dressed up as Darla from Finding Nemo . Mum was Jessie from Toy Story 2. I asked if she wanted to do another pose and this is what she came up with...

Vaccinated Adventures

Here's a little background on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia. It apparently wasn't a race and has been quite dismal. There haven't been enough of the appropriate vaccines available. It's only been in the past couple of months since New South Wales entered a lockdown due to the Delta strain that the Federal Government thought maybe they should order more vaccines. On Wednesday I entered the vaccination race after receiving my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. I had a few concerns about the process of getting a vaccine, so thought I would answer some of the questions I had about the vaccination in a blog post. How do you book? I booked through this website:  https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/health-and-wellbeing/covid-19-vaccination-nsw/priority-covid-19-vaccination-booking-for-16?fbclid=IwAR07pi02UZxNgtxja8hk1xhSx_Hc5Kpf8fXSlq-LFSghHda0JdFkxcSoAIA Who is this link for? It is currently for anyone aged 16 to 49 living in a New South Wales Local Government Area (LG...

Disney and Olympic Lockdown Adventures

Every Saturday I host a themed lockdown event for my family. A couple of weeks ago it was Disney Night. I chose to do a Genie Disneybound. Mum opted to be Chef Mickey. Eric decided to be Goofy... after Mum helped select his outfit, which included one of her jackets worn backwards. We took a little greenscreen trip to Disney World, then it was time to watch the live action Aladdin . Overall, we enjoyed the movie, although Mum did say it was a little scary. She also asked at one point, "Is that the mean guy? Jafor?"  I informed her she was pronouncing his name wrong to which she said, "Oh, Jafar. Like stay far  away?" That night we spoke to Adelyn and she had her Frozen dress on, which also fit into our Disney theme. Later that night she put glasses on Baby. Then not longer after she walked over to the phone saying, "Clary look at my glasses." "Oh wow! Looking good!" Last Saturday we celebrated the Olympic spirit. Each competitor had a sport they w...
