Disney and Olympic Lockdown Adventures
Every Saturday I host a themed lockdown event for my family. A couple of weeks ago it was Disney Night.
I chose to do a Genie Disneybound.
Mum opted to be Chef Mickey.
Eric decided to be Goofy... after Mum helped select his outfit, which included one of her jackets worn backwards.
We took a little greenscreen trip to Disney World, then it was time to watch the live action Aladdin.
Overall, we enjoyed the movie, although Mum did say it was a little scary. She also asked at one point, "Is that the mean guy? Jafor?"
I informed her she was pronouncing his name wrong to which she said, "Oh, Jafar. Like stay far away?"
That night we spoke to Adelyn and she had her Frozen dress on, which also fit into our Disney theme.
Later that night she put glasses on Baby.
Then not longer after she walked over to the phone saying, "Clary look at my glasses."
"Oh wow! Looking good!"
Last Saturday we celebrated the Olympic spirit. Each competitor had a sport they were representing and demonstrated that sport.
I took on pole vault.
Eric competed in weightlifting.
Mum was a graceful rhythmic gymnast.
She wanted her photo taken with the Eiffel Tower to show that she's ready for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
After demonstrating our chosen sports we designed and coloured in flags to represent our nations which had a population of one. Mum even gave her country a name - Asuower, which stands for Annette, sun and flower.
The flags contained the same colours as our outfits.
A little later on we would hold a competition to discover the winner of the flag competition. While we waited for the judge to be ready we held a few events. The first event was the hula hoop. Competitors needed to see how long they could keep the hoop in the air.
After 3 attempts each the winner was decided. It was me with a total of 29 seconds, which was much better than the other competitors who each got less than 3 seconds.
I was delighted to have secured win, and present myself (because COVID times) with one of my medals from dancing.
I also won the next event, which was seeing who could unlace their shoe the quickest.
I was a shoe-in to win the next event too, which was seeing who could re-lace their shoe the quickest. Or so I thought. The event was judged based on speed and accuracy. While I had the speed, my accuracy was a little off, so I had to do a little unlacing and re-lacing, but even with all that I still won.
All the colouring and competing was set to this playlist.
We watched Nicola McDermott clinch the silver medal for Australia.
A little later it was time to find out the winner of the flag competition. Our was judge was 2 year old Adelyn who insisted on drinking milk while judging. I thought for sure I would have a clean sweep of all the events. My flag even had a pink heart on it. We all held our breath while we waited for Addy to declare the winner of the flags. She studied them and said, "Yellow."
Gigig was delighted to have finally won an event.
