Animal Planet Party

Every Saturday night for the past few months I've been hosting a party for my mum and step-dad, but a few weeks ago we had some international guests join us.

Mum, Eric and I started our animal theme party first.

I was a cat.

I used the tail and ears from when I did Cats with Blue Mountains Musical Society in 2014.

I had to do my famous move, which became known as 'The Claryse'.

Mum was an ecclectus parrot.

Eric was a penguin.

We listened to children's animal songs.

We did a little colouring in.

We watched some of Zootopia.

Then it was time to be joined by our international guests - The Bravos. Adelyn, Alicia and Carlos joined the party all the way from Long Island in The States.

Carlos was a rabbit, Alicia was a koala and Adelyn was Old Macdonald.

One day a couple of months prior I was telling Adelyn about some of the party themes I had planned. When I told her about animals she started singing Old Macdonald Had a Farm, so I asked her if she wanted to be Old Macdonald. She very excitedly responded, "Yeah!"

Adelyn was very excited to show us her toy farm set up.

She also said I was a mouse. It was close enough.

We played a guessing game with Adelyn where we took turns making animal sounds and she had to say what they were. I really thought this game was suitable for her level of ability. That was until I woofed and she guessed "cowboy". She did get pig right straight away though.

She was much better at Pictionary. She did just guess what they were by making the animal sounds.

She was also quite good at charades. Although she did guess I was a ballerina when I was trying to be a butterfly. Maybe it's me that needs to work on my skills.

I was so impressed when she guessed what I was that I gave her a thumbs up. She wanted to do a thumbs up too, but needed a little help from her mum.

She was very excited when she got it.

Adelyn saw how much fun it was playing charades and asked if she could have a turn, then said, "I'll be a frog." We tried to explain we're supposed to guess what she is.

She changed her mind and ended up being a chicken like her mum was.

We also played a little hide and seek.

I'm not sure who was copying who here.

We finished the party by watching a Cocomelon version of Old Macdonald Had a Farm.

Actually it finished when Adelyn said, "No more mouse." The international party was a hit, even if one of the attendees needed a timeout at one point. I won't say who it was.
