Festive Festivities

My 2021 festive season has been a blast.

LKM Staff Dinner

Earlier this year I joined LKM Performing Arts as a dance teacher. It's a privilege to be part of such a caring and supportive team. We had our end of year Christmas dinner at The Ori.

Studio owner, Lisa was kind enough to buy all the teachers a gift. Mine just happens to match my bedroom decor perfectly.

BMMS Gatherings

I've had a few get togethers with some Blue Mountains Musical Society friends over the past couple of weeks. The first was at the Lapstone Hotel (also known as The Lappo) with Bec, Elena and Linda. Bec's meal looked so impressive when it arrived that we all had to pose with our meals for the blog.

The next BMMS gathering was at a fundraiser for the society at Glenbrook Cinema. I initially had doubts about whether it was necessary to remake another musical film. After watching the movie I can confirm that it was absolutely necessary. It's honestly a must-see, and if you're in the area head to Glenbrook Cinema where you'll find a delightful movie theatre with reasonably priced tickets and friendly service.

A few days later I returned to The Lappo for a gathering, which included honorary guest, Ryan. We resurrected the carpool, which we used to do for Jesus Christ Superstar rehearsals in 2017. At the Lappo I spent time hanging out with Zoe. Not too sure that she was convinced by what I had to say here.

Zoe and Henry did enjoy my reading though... well, the 4 pages I read before they moved onto something else.

There was beautiful weather, wide open space, and a gathering of dancers, which can only mean one thing... we had to film a TikTok.

Christmas Decorations

Katie and I went on a search for the best Christmas lights, which took us to Gregory Hills and Mount Annan.

My home also has a few Christmas decorations. They're not quite as extravagant.

Festive Friends

I've run into a few Christmas characters at the shops over the festive season.

Family

On Christmas Eve I had a video call with my niece, Adelyn. I told her I'd put up her small tree to which she kindly pointed out, "We have a big tree." She enjoyed the decorations, particularly the ballet ones. She liked the "tippy shoes", and said, "I love ballerinas!"

She was thrilled that Gigig was lucky enough to meet Rudolph.

Addy read me some stories, and she even sang through the whole Wheels On The Bus book. This was accompanied by some very dramatic actions and a few wrong phrases. Apparently the driver on the bus says, "I love you."

She was due to have video call with Mum and I on Christmas Day, which my sister, Alicia, told her about. Adelyn's response was, "No Mum. Gigig, Aunt Clary, Eric and Great Grandpa are going to be here!"

I wish we were. The last time I saw Addy in person was Christmas 2019 when I visited them in Long Island, New York. Maybe next Christmas we'll get to see each other in person again.

Come back to find out about my Christmas Day adventures.
