Addy’s 3rd Birthday

Addy turned 4 in July, but we're travelling back a little further to her 3rd birthday.



She was excited to turn 3. 


And was super excited when I told her my age (33 at the time) had two 3s. "Wow!" she said.

Mum and I helped her celebrate via video call.

Addy woke up and was delighted to see all the decorations.

She loved the chef apron and hat we bought her. She often wears it when she helps with cooking.


She was very keen for the stroller we gave her to be assembled.



After trying to help, she collected her blankets and dolls.



They were all ready to go to the shop. Addy wore the Elsa outfit we'd bought her for Christmas.

At the shops Addy discovered the stroller was perfect for filling with packets of chips... she hadn't paid for.

After putting the chips back it was time for her breakfast and my midnight snack - both pink.

Then it was time for the cake.




She showed off her birthday sign.



She also shared her cake with us.

The best part was the icing turned her tongue blue.


It was a lovely family celebration.

That Time I Surprised Addy

At the beginning of last year I decided it would be fun to spend Christmas in New York with my niece. I also thought it would be a good idea to surprise her. A week or so (I actually can’t remember how long before) my mum and I told Addy over a video call that we’d be spending Christmas with her, her mum (my sister, Alicia) and her dad (Carlos). The journey for Mum and I started in Sydney… with a photo for the blog, of course.  After an insane amount of hours flying, an encounter with an angry, egotistical TSA agent (or was that on the way home?) we made it to the newly renovated Terminal B in LaGuardia Airport.  Back tracking a little, Mum and I were lined up to walk past sniffer dogs. Except you couldn’t see what was actually happening because there were partitions. Wisconsin Adventures

While in America in January last year I took a little trip to Wisconsin to visit Kyra and meet her son, Walter, for the first time in real life.  I took off from LaGuardia airport.  And touched down in Milwaukee.  I stayed at Kyra’s parents’ place with Mom and Dad Nowacki (Kyra and her family were one of my adopted families when I lived in America… as a 26 year old).  Kyra, Walter and I ventured Downtown.  We had some snacks and hot drinks.  Walter kept peaking out on the way back to the car. He wanted to know what was going on. I also think he was a little confused that I kept going everywhere with them.  We took a few touristy shots.  And a few festive ones.  We took all these photos for the blog, of course.  We watched a little football.
