Exploring London

Turns out living on the southeast coast of England was great for travelling into London. Samantha and I thought we’d kick off this trip (actually in May 2019) with a visit to the Imperial War Museum.

The entrance to the building, which opened in 1920 to commemorate the first world war, is full of aircraft.

We'd thought we'd spent a short amount of time perusing the various historical artefacts.

Posters, and uniform among other items depict some of the impact of the Great War.

Turns out we only had enough time to see the World War I exhibits that day. We decided we'd return the next day.

I captured some of the sights seen on the bus on our way to Duke of York's Theatre.

We had tickets to see Rosmersholm.

First performed in 1887, the political play remains relevant today.

The main reason we went? One of Samantha's other friends really wanted to see Hayley Atwell who is best known for playing Peggy Carter in the Marvel universe.

The following morning we returned to the Imperial War Museum to experience the touching tribute to victims of World War II.

That afternoon we had tickets to Waitress.

With music and lyrics baked up by pop star Sara Barielles, the entertaining production features a heartfelt story, and a whole lot of sugar, butter and flour.

All that singing and talking about pie made me hungry.

Samantha and I walked around to the stage door to meet some of the stars, including leading lady, Katherine McPhee.

The afternoon included a few more London sights.

I made my way to Topgolf to catch up with uni friend, Ashlygh.

She’d moved to England a couple of years before I did, and we finally got around to catching up on British soil... while eating American style food.

Stay tuned for more adventures in London.
