Disney Magic
Once upon a time I took a solo trip to the Magic Kingdom. This wasn't my first. My most recent trip to Disney World's Magic Kingdom was in December.

I slept in, so arrived in the afternoon to watch a castle show.
Then I hung around to watch the parade.
One of my favourite spots to watch the parade is with Cinderella's castle in the background.
Cinderella herself was perfection, by the way.
Disney have some incredible costumes.
The parade was bursting with colour.
It was a true Festival of Fantasy.
Their floats are next level... literally. Look how high they are.
Back on the ground, the Prince Phillip was taking on the badies.
Here we have my two most common isolation moods - Sleepy and Grumpy.
Fun fact: when I was ten my ballet class did a Disney themed dance. There were so many awesome characters. Was I a princess? No. Wendy from Peter Pan? No. Maybe Alice? Also no.
I was Jiminy Cricket. Let your conscience be your guide, people.
I had my Memory Maker to use so I got a few magic shots taken in front of the castle. I was expecting high quality images with the castle in the background. The photos didn't exactly pan out. I even got a magic shot. This is where they ask you to pose in a certain way and they'll add a prop or character in later via photoshop. I got the Tinkerbell magic shot. I was pretty excited to see the finished product.
Well, here it is.
I took my own selfie magic shot a little later.
I also asked a guest to take a photo of me in front of the castle.
Disney was decked out for the holidays.
The weather was much more spectacular than the previous day's downpour.
Lunch was at the colonial inspired counter service restaurant, Columbia Harbour House.
Yeah, I had choccy milk two days in a row.
I'd never had my photo taken with Peter Pan before, so was excited to meet the fellow redhead in green.
I ducked over to the Move It, Shake It, MouskeDance It parade.
Main Street offered a good vantage point.
I chose not to watch the entire thing, but meet up with Mickey in his magician attire, instead.
He was excited to see himself and Minnie enjoying hot chocolates on my jumper.
Apparently he really does enjoy hot chocolates, and Minnie’s company, of course.
After meeting Mickey in his magician outfit I caught the end of the parade from the opposite side of the street.
Dinner that night wasn't nutritious, but it was delicious. A hidden Mickey shaped doughnut and a hot chocolate? Perfection.
I marvelled at the castle lights while I waited for the Happily Ever After fireworks show.
Disney's fireworks have destroyed all other firework shows for me.
Sparkling bursts of colour in the crisp night air, combined with nostalgic Disney music, and film scene projections elicit an emotional response like no other fireworks show.
You can’t beat the magic.
If you stick around after the fireworks you can watch the Once Upon a Time castle projection show.
There were Extra Magic Hours for Disney resort guests in the Magic Kingdom that night, so I took a right turn into Tomorrowland.
After a spot of shopping there I continued circling around to Fantasyland. I found myself under the sea.
I literally walked straight onto the ride.
I also walked straight onto the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
I had no idea there was even a photo taken on this ride until after the flash had gone off.
A guy couple of rows back was clearly expecting the flash.
The time had come to farewell the Magic Kingdom.
I soaked in the festive magic.
I didn’t know when I'd be back.
Right now nobody knows when they’ll be able to feel the magic again. My heart goes out to all the cast members who are impacted by the current closure of the Disney parks brought on by the devastating Coronavirus. Stay strong, stay safe, and live for the moment you get to deliver the magic once more.
