Unexpected Adventures
In March my adventures took an unexpected turn. I think we all know why. I found myself on an extended vacation in Australia. This seems to be the best way to think of my situation.

While I'm over here I'm back on the Aussie snacks.

I've also spent a lot of time talking to my niece, Adelyn. Sure there are other people in the video calls, but Addy is definitely the star.
These photos are from when she was younger, and regularly requested Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star by wiggling her fingers.
She also enjoyed listening to stories.
After my mandatory 2 week quarantine I explored the local neighbourhood.
Mum and I went on walks that took us through the local reserve, which is unfortunately quite small. But it's certainly better than nothing.
Aunty Liz and Uncle Mal even went on a socially distant walk with Mum, Eric and I one afternoon.
I've also been on some Marie Kondo inspired adventures. Her show about tidying up, combined with spending a lot of hours indoors meant I started doing some organising. Just in time for Mother's Day I found some absolute masterpieces that had been hiding.
I probably could've sold them for a hefty sum, but I chose to gift them to my Mum. I should point out that my sister did help write the poem.
I think isolation is really getting to poor Samantha Sock. Yep, I came up with that very clever name for a sock puppet myself back in '98. I was gifted and talented.
Mother's Day also saw the invention of a new cocktail.
Was combining those ingredients really an achievement to brag about? Well, no, but 2020 has seen a shift in my definition of achievement.
Thanks to these unusual times I downloaded Zoom. It's great for chats with Blue Mountains Musical Society friends while wearing old cast shirts. I sadly haven't gotten around to wearing my Cats ears and tail.
Zoom was also great for quizzes with some Bluecoat F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
In case you can't tell (thanks to Sean's expert photoshopping) that's not actually a photo of the original cast of Friends. It's a photo of people who were part of the Pontin's Southport team... however brief. It now seems appropriate for me to represent Ross, considering England and I are still on a break.
I also caught up with a couple of former Pizza Planeteers.
It's so strange that we all dyed our hair the same crazy quarantine colour, and let our make-up run down our faces the exact amount. I think you'll agree that 2020 really suits me.
The vacation continues, and so will my blog. I can really feel the excitement brewing. Oh, never mind, that's just all the snacks.
