Miscellaneous Adventures

I'm back with another blog post. I know I was up-to-date with my previous post, but that's no longer the case, so let's take things back to the end of January.

I caught up with Steph and Xavie at Caffe Cherry Beans in Glenmore Park.

I recommend the dish you can see here. While I don't remember what it is called I do remember it was delicious.

Xavie had a good look around the place and approved.

I grabbed dinner at Maldini's with high school friends Laura and Alicia. The cheese pizza was better than my selfie taking ability.

I wasn't really impressed by my main pasta dish, but I'd be willing to go back and give a different dish a go. I want to say the dish I had was fettucine carbonara. I can't be sure if that's what it actually was though.

The end of January saw me attending my first book club meeting. Xavie and Will are definitely the cutest members.

This is Will's blog debut, so he gave a look directly to the camera, and then a "candid" pose. Xavie is familiar with the blog, so really amped up the posing.

Next up was Grandpa's 96th birthday celebration at the Gallery Restaurant in Baulkham Hills Sports Club. It happened to coincide with Lunar New Year celebrations, so there were a few decorations around.

We had a brief video chat with the Bravos, so they could wish Grandpa a happy birthday.

I was a fan of the seafood basket, although there was a little too much for me. Annabel felt the same way about her calamari dish. Some of which she took with her. There was so much of it legend says she's still eating it.

Uncle Bruce's carpentry skills came to the rescue when it was time to put the candles in the cake's impenetrable icing.

Grandpa sang along as we all sang Happy Birthday.

I attempted to grab a family selfie, but I think it's pretty clear that group selfies are not my forte. A self-timed photo thanks to Annabel was a much better option.

We headed back to Grandpa's place for a little family photo shoot.

Here are three generations of Bennett’s.

Grandpa said he'd never been so "paparazzied" in his life.

I think I actually did alright with this selfie.

About a month ago I hit up Beresford Hotel with some fellow Wesley Institute alumni. Thanks to Sal for organising the reunion, and for organising this group photo. This landscape, not portrait, group photo.

It was lovely to catch up with so many people and find out the paths their lives are on. Now is probably good time to let you know about an upcoming dance performance by Wesley alumni Bonnie for March Dance in Sydney. Also, feel free to hit up Holly at the Little Letterer for your custom signage needs. If you're looking for a dance studio in the Engadine area you can't go past Jessica's Dance Network Engadine. And don't forget to check out Steph as model/dancer Vixen Heart. (Look below for all the links.)

Lots of people are doing lots of awesome things. Meanwhile, I'm TikTok famous. Yes, that's right. This very popular blog with zero followers is by that Clary from TikTok. I would tell you my TikTok handle, but I'm sure you already follow me. Ok, then, just in case I haven't appeared on your For You Page in a while, you can find the link below.

Aussie Night Markets were next on the agenda.

I of course dragged Mum and Eric along with me. My main priority was the Thicc Cookies.

I suppose they must've recognised me from TikTok even though I was trying to go incognito with my sunglasses because they featured me on their Instagram.

Is that photo actually just a screenshot from a video they took of the really long line that I had to wait ages in? Let's just say that it was.

Thankfully the cookies were worth the wait, especially heated in the microwave with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.

Although I was too full from my California Burger and fries from Neon Burgers to enjoy the cookies that night.

While I enjoyed the food from the Aussie Night Markets, and also purchased a sweetly scented candle, I don't feel like it's something I need to attend again. I know there are still COVID restrictions in place, but in the future it would be nice to see some live musical entertainment and roving performers, like balloon twisters.

About a month ago I visited Cassie where I was entertained by the musical stylings of Kahlani. It was nice to go somewhere with some live musical entertainment. It was a brief concert full of original songs.

The afternoon also included a few episodes of Bluey, and a drawing competition between Koa and I.

Although I do feel the competition may have been a little unfair. Kylah was the judge and she kept giving me tips. Once I finished my drawing she asked if I wanted to do any finishing touches. After I declined, so then did some finishing touches.

After all the help I received I decided it was only fair to declare the competition a tie.

My niece seems to be a regular on my blog. Here is Adelyn helping empty the dishwasher, and refusing to put her bag down while she does it. She'll be 2 in July, but she's already more coordinated than me.

Stay tuned because there are plenty more adventures to catch up on.
