Saturday Night Shenanigans

Here are a few of our Saturday shindigs from the end of lockdown and beyond.

Inside Out

This party brought out some of our lockdown emotions. I was Disgust.

Mum was Sadness.

And Eric was Anger.

That night's activity was watching the movie Inside Out.

Villains

The following week our evil sides emerged.

Captain Hook,

Miss Trunchbull

and President Snow were all in attendance.

Our alter egos tested their drawing skills. First up was The Joker.

I think all of our attempts were the joke.

We had a little food break with a villain inspired playlist.

Up next we attempted to draw the villain from The Lion King - Scar.

Toys

A couple of weeks ago a couple of toys joined the party.

Barbie

and Teddy Bear had a blast.

They competed in the yo-yo competition.

We were both pretty pumped when we realised the yo-yo was glow in the dark.

As the only competitor who could make the yo-yo bounce up and down, teddy bear was declared the winner.

Teddy Bear also won marbles.

Although I do think they both won the fashion competition with their bumbags.

Teddy Bear continued the winning streak with Barrel of Monkeys.

Barbie finally snagged a win with the board game, Headache.

We had a few snacks around the time Grandpa called because he always wants to know what we're having for supper.

As a former Pizza Planeteer I can't forget the playlist that provided our background music.

We concluded the evening with a couple of quizzes, which I'm happy to say I won. The second quiz even had photos of a road trip across America, so it was like we really were on an adventure.

Emojis

Last week I held an emoji party.

I was the artist emoji. 🧑🏻‍🎨

Mum was the surgical mask emoji. 😷

And Eric was the running emoji. 🏃‍♂️

The Emoji Movie Soundtrack was of course our background music.

We began our activities with a word search race. Which nobody really won because it appears there was a spelling error with one of the words.

Next up was bingo.

We didn't have any counters, so improvised with M&Ms. These were even better than standard counters because they didn't have to be collected at the end.

I'm delighted to say that after a few rounds I was declared the winner.

Our following activity included us making up stories based on emoji prompts, which were revealed one at a time.

These emojis inspired stories about the Nepean River, running a red light and the devil coming out of a lake.

Our final activity was memory.

I also won this. I promise I didn't rig it.

Stay tuned for more adventures at home... and beyond.
