Christmas in New York (Part 5)

 It’s now Christmas Day… 2023. 


Addy woke up to see a really cool gingerbread house. 



She also received Milky from Santa. When Addy was a baby Milky was the first toy I bought her. A few years later she gave it away. And then she really missed it. Luckily Santa was able to find another one. 


There were Christmas stockings for everyone - even me and Gigig. 




We also got Santa hats. 



A few more presents were exchanged. 


A little decorating was done. 


Then it was time for breakfast. 

Addy and I played in her house. 


We were visited by a giant. 

Addy’s favourite part of the present I gave the Bravos was the ribbon.


We played a board game.




A scary dinosaur scared Alicia.




We watched an Elf on the Shelf movie.

Addy tested out her new camera. She even reminded Gigig to smile in a group photo.





I convinced Addy to get a family photo by tell in her that her friends hadn’t had any photos yet.. hence the extra friends in the photo.


I also convinced her to get a photo with me because her other friends hadn’t had any photos in their Santa hats yet.



Tommy went to bed.

Then it was story time.

And Addy went to bed.

That Time I Surprised Addy

At the beginning of last year I decided it would be fun to spend Christmas in New York with my niece. I also thought it would be a good idea to surprise her. A week or so (I actually can’t remember how long before) my mum and I told Addy over a video call that we’d be spending Christmas with her, her mum (my sister, Alicia) and her dad (Carlos). The journey for Mum and I started in Sydney… with a photo for the blog, of course.  After an insane amount of hours flying, an encounter with an angry, egotistical TSA agent (or was that on the way home?) we made it to the newly renovated Terminal B in LaGuardia Airport.  Back tracking a little, Mum and I were lined up to walk past sniffer dogs. Except you couldn’t see what was actually happening because there were partitions. Wisconsin Adventures

While in America in January last year I took a little trip to Wisconsin to visit Kyra and meet her son, Walter, for the first time in real life.  I took off from LaGuardia airport.  And touched down in Milwaukee.  I stayed at Kyra’s parents’ place with Mom and Dad Nowacki (Kyra and her family were one of my adopted families when I lived in America… as a 26 year old).  Kyra, Walter and I ventured Downtown.  We had some snacks and hot drinks.  Walter kept peaking out on the way back to the car. He wanted to know what was going on. I also think he was a little confused that I kept going everywhere with them.  We took a few touristy shots.  And a few festive ones.  We took all these photos for the blog, of course.  We watched a little football.
